We are thrilled to welcome Shira Telushkin who has joined the ICS team as our new Business Manager! Shira brings a wealth of experience and talent to our community. She is a writer, producer, and community builder based in Brooklyn. Her writing on religion, art, and culture has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, and many other publications. She is an adjunct professor at the Craig Newmark School of Journalism at CUNY, where she teaches religion reporting, and holds an M.Div. from the Harvard Divinity School, where she studied Coptic and early Christian monasticism. Her first book, How To Forsake the World, will be published by HarperCollins next year. Shira loves promoting discussion of the ancient world, and is thrilled to be joining the International Catacomb Society. Shira will be the first point of contact for with our members and the general public and will be responsible for routine organizational and management tasks, assisting with event planning, social media presence, and general promotion of the ICS.
